A TV leaning against the wall in its box, or one on a stand you'd rather see up on it.

What we mount

  • Flat-screen TVs on fixed, tilting and full-motion mounts.
  • A TV over the fireplace, on the masonry or on the drywall in front of the chimney.
  • A soundbar under the screen, and a shelf for the cable box or the console.
  • A mount you already bought, or one we bring.
  • An old mount that leans or has cracked the plaster around its bolts, rehung level.

The wall behind it

On drywall over wood studs, the plate goes into two studs with lag bolts. Plaster in older houses fools a stud finder, so there we find the framing another way first.

The cables can hide inside the wall between two plates, or in a paintable cover on brick. If your plan needs power added behind the screen, that's a job for a licensed electrician, and you hear that on the call, before we book a window.

How a mount visit goes

  1. Start with a text. The screen size and a photo of the wall are enough to price most mounts.
  2. You get a written price and a two-hour window. When our handyman leaves the job before yours, you get a text with the time he'll be at your door.
  3. You pick the height. We tape the outline of the screen on the wall so you can check it from where you sit before we drill.
  4. The plate goes up level. Into the framing, with the level checked again once the bolts are tight.
  5. Shown working. The TV goes on the mount and through its full range, then we turn it on with you and leave the room as we found it.

What adds time to a mount

The visit covers the trip and the first hour of work, then time goes in half-hour steps. The written price comes before we start, and nothing bigger goes ahead without your OK.

  • The mount. A full-motion arm takes longer to set level than a fixed plate. A mount we supply is listed on the invoice.
  • The wall. Masonry and the steel studs in high-rise condos take their own anchors, and longer than drywall over wood.
  • Hidden cables. Cables fished through the wall add more time than a cover on the surface.
  • What else goes up. A soundbar or a shelf on the same visit runs on the same half-hour steps, so the trip is paid once.

What you get

  • The TV level on the wall, tried at every angle it's meant to reach before we go.
  • The itemized invoice and a photo of the finished work come by text the same day.
  • Our work is covered for a year from the date on your invoice. If something we fixed or installed stops working in that year, call and we book a return window at no charge. Parts we supplied are covered by the company that made them.

Before the TV goes up

What does mounting a TV cost?

The visit, plus a half-hour step for each half hour past the first hour. Hidden cables or a brick fireplace add steps.

Can the TV go over the fireplace?

Usually, yes. Tell us what it's faced with when you book. A mantel can lift the screen too high to watch from the sofa, so you check the taped outline from your seat first.

Tell us the job. We'll give you the window.

We call or text back within the hour to book your window, 7am to 7pm, every day.
